Who we are

🌸 Jenny Bawtree - Founder and Soul of Rendola

In 1969, Jenny turned her love of horses and the Tuscan countryside into a unique place-Rendola Riding. An Oxford graduate, she taught English in Florence and has a deep knowledge of the area, from medieval art to Valdarno flora.
She has written several works, including the autobiography Tuscany on Horseback and The Cycle of the Months, and is now working on a new book devoted to Piero della Francesca.

"Jenny is the best horseback trekking guide I have ever met. She knows every aspect of Tuscany and makes every experience unforgettable."
- Margaret Edwards

"With Jenny you don't just ride, you discover stories, hidden churches, Italian words.... Vacations like you wouldn't expect."
- Jean Rohland

🐎 Eraldo Tuveri - Head of the Equestrian Center

Originally from Sardinia, Eraldo arrived at Rendola in 1995. After a stint in England, where he qualified as a BHS instructor, he returned in 2006 to take over leadership of the center. He is an experienced horseman, attentive, funny and with a real gift for engaging guests, thanks in part to his knowledge of local wildlife.

"Eraldo won us over with his friendliness and skill: a kind and passionate guide."
- Linda Giannino

🍲 Pietro Pinti - The Cook, the Farmer, the Man of the Heart

For more than 30 years, Pietro was the soul of the house. His autobiography, The Book of Pietro, recounts the Tuscan farm life of the last century, amid sacrifices and joys.
Pietro left us in 2011, but his presence still lives on in Rendola's stories, dishes and memories.

"A very rich book, which tells with sincerity and poetry the peasant world."
- Dante Prior
